Controllers are the brains of a sprinkler system. They activate and deactivate designated irrigation zones according to programmed run times. Properly programed controllers ensure a landscape is receiving the right amount of water at the optimal watering time. Hunter Industries offers rotor sprinklers that can apply water from 15 feet to over 160 feet, and are designed to irrigate large turf areas by spreading a solid stream of water back and forth over a designated area. Hunter is the industry leader in the rotor category, and has been since introducing the PGP rotor in 1981. If space permits, rotors are generally the go-to solution for grass areas.
Rotors are the most effective way to irrigate large areas and can apply water at lower rates, thus preventing runoff from occurring.
Pop-up spray sprinklers consist of a nozzle and body and apply water to a given area between 2 and 30 feet. Hunter offers a wide variety of nozzle and spray body solutions. The proper spray body and nozzle combination is found by considering plant type, soil type, and area shape, and matching the correct model.
Hunter offers three primary spray bodies: the Pro-Spray, the PRS30, and the PRS40. The Pro-Spray is our standard spray body, and is compatible with all Hunter nozzles. The Pro-Spray PRS30 looks similar to the Pro-Spray, but includes a built-in 30 PSI pressure regulator that ensures optimal water pressure with standard nozzles. The Pro-Spray PRS40 pairs the Pro-Spray body with a 40 PSI pressure regulator, and is designed to be paired with the highly efficient MP Rotator nozzles.
Hunter offers a variety of fixed and adjustable spray nozzles to fit any application. Precision Distribution Control Adjustable Nozzles allow the user to set the arc between 45 and 360 degrees for convenience and accuracy. Pro Fixed Nozzles feature fixed-arc settings for solid coverage along well-defined angles.
For optimal water efficiency, Hunter offers the revolutionary MP Rotator—a long-awaited alternative to traditional spray nozzles. The MP Rotator emits several rotating streams of water at low application rate, which uses less water and ensures the landscape receives only the amount of water it needs to thrive. MP Rotators are proven to decrease water use by 30% over traditional spray nozzles.
The MP Rotator saves water, better-sustains landscapes, and fits on most spray bodies whether it's already in use or not. For maximum system-wide efficiency Hunter recommends the MP Rotator with PRS40 wherever possible.
The Pro-Spray and Pro-Spray PRS 30 are designed to be the most rugged, reliable and efficient conventional spray solutions on the market.
Weather sensors connect to irrigation controllers, and are designed to make irrigation systems react to local weather conditions. Simple rain sensors, such as the Rain-Clik, prevent watering from occurring during rain events. More advanced sensors, like Hunter's Solar Sync, gather daily local weather data and work with your controller to calculate the optimum watering schedule based upon the current weather conditions.
